FOURTH BLOG: FAST-FASHION VS SUSTAINABLE FASHION

FOURTH BLOG: FAST-FASHION VS SUSTAINABLE FASHION

Do you know what the difference is between the two? Do you also know which fashion businesses fit under which category?

Fast-fashion

Businesses that mass produce clothing at a very low cost, (in other words, cheap quality), with very minimal thought and processes of eco-friendliasm.

Businesses who also have little concern about the effects it has on the environment, on its workers, on animals etc.

Sustainable fashion

Businesses that consider its processes and resources from the start of production right to the end product. A conscious approach that considers and is concerned with the use of materials, such as being organic, recycled, repurposed etc. This leads to better quality garments that last longer and are more environmentally friendly. Sustainable fashion driven businesses also value fair treatment of people, animals, and the environment.

Below is a link to a NZ Herald article written in 2018 about where some of our popular businesses have their products made👇🏽

With that being said, are you aware of the processes of the businesses you support? Do they align with your own values?
